This joyous scene of a wedding procession at Le Grau-du-Roi in the South of France is brought to life by Hilda Trefusis' whimsical style and vibrant use of colour. Le Grau-du-Roi is a small town on the Mediterranean coast to the east of Montpelier.

Hilda Trefusis was the daughter of the Bishop of Credition. She exhibited at the Goupil Gallery.
