The artist visited Corsica in 1910 and exhibited the paintings from his time there at the Leicester Galleries, London in 1914 in a solo exhibition, entitled, "Sunshine and Blossoms in Corsica".

Ernest Yarrow Jones was the son of a Liverpool tea merchant and J.P.. After graduating from Pembroke college, Oxford, he qualified as a barrister but subsequently decided to pursue a career as a painter and sculptor. He trained firstly at the Westminster School of Art and then the Royal College of Art. He exhibited at the Royal Academy and at the Paris Autumn Salon. His work is in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford.
