Emily Beatrice Bland was born in Lincolnshire and studied at the Lincoln School of Art, followed by the Slade under Henry Tonks and Fred Brown. She exhibited throughout her life at the Royal Academy, the New English Art Club, the Fine Art Society, the Leicester Galleries (one-man show 1922) and elsewhere.
